Mitsubishi Repair: 92 Eagle Summit No spark, eagle summit, putting computers

Question
I took my daughter to school, then when I went out an hour later to leave for work, the car would not start. It cranks but will not turn over. It is getting a very low spark, when he checked it by taking out the spark plug and checking the arc? I have already replaced the Distributor cap, rotor button, wires, plugs, ecm fuse. We have also put the computer from my inlaws summit and tried that, doesn't start. So definitely not the computer. Any ideas? What could it be? Distributor?

Answer
Sarah: Oh listen you can not be putting computers from other cars into your car. These cars are set up to have the right computer that goes with its engine, year and model. I would say that you should have your car coded, as you could have sensor or sensors out. But I would also check that computer, your car is in the right year for bad computers. You already replaced the distrbutor cap then it is far deeper than that. Something that controls the whole car and that would be your car's computer. Next time you put another computer into the car, go to a parts store and order one for your car year, model and engine size. But it shall be costly, you could have the computer from your car rebuilt a lot of places on the line do this. You did not put down the amount of miles on this car but I am thinking a high miles and that is when these sensors start to go bad or get weak. You need to find a shop that can code your car, but they will need that computer from your car as to know what is going on. As to code your car, they took their computer up to your car's computer; then they get a reading out which explains what the computer is doing and why. I do hope this helps and good luck! Linda
