Question
i have a 1994 Mitsubishi eclipse that i just converted from an automatic to a manual and when i drive the car it drives well but if im in fourth gear past 3000rpm and press the clutch in starting to slow down the RPM's drop non stop to zero i replaced the ISC motor and that didn't help at all please any info would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Steven: Besides that is seems to kill the car when your in 4th gear. What else do you hear, how does it work in the other gears, does it shift easy or do you hear noise? Is there any vibration with the other gears, it seems funny that just 4th causes it troubles there has to be other things going on. I would say some of this to due to your transaxle and not just the clutch. Could be worn or improperly adjusted linkage, transaxle loose on engine, shift linkage does not work freely, binds, input gear bearing retainer broken or loose, dirt between clutch cover and engine housing or worn shift fork. Just some ideas on my part and my repair manual. Hope this helps and good luck!
