Mitsubishi Repair: bad vibration, 1990 eclipse gsx, couple teeth

Question
I have a 1990 Eclipse GSX 5speed.  This past summer it started to vibrate and so I replaced the 3-part drive line which didn't help.  I kept driving the car, hoping that whatever it was would break - nothing has broken and it's still vibrating.  What I did notice is that it would only vibrate when the weather was on the cool side - it wouldn't vibrate when it was hot.  And, you could feel the vibration more when the steering wheel was turning right, not so much when you were turning left.  I've checked for loose components, finding nothing.  Please help!!

Answer
George,
You may have a worn power steering (PS) belt, PS hose, PS cooling tube, lack of fluid, or a bad PS pump all together.  Check your fluid level, and see if you notice any leaks.  Many times, old and dirty PS fluid can cause this problem.  Also check the other drive belts.

It's also possible your balance belt (sometimes called timing belt B) is slipping.  When your engine is cold, your timing gets slightly advanced via your car's computer.  So if your belt is off a couple teeth, it can cause that vibration when cold.  If it's been over 45,000 miles since your last timing belt change, the timing belt, balance belt and auto tensioner should be replaced as soon as you can.
Good luck!
