Motorcycle Repair: leaking carb

Question
I have a 1974 CB360 Honda motorcycle. I've bought new floats for the carbs but it is still not stopping the gas from filling the bowl and flooding it out.  Any ideas

Answer
Loren,  Carburetors will overflow for several reasons.....

Usually the float valve has something caught in between the float needle and seat. Dirt coming down from the fuel tank, can get past the petcock screen and contaminate the insides of the fuel lines or backs up behind the float valve seat.

Or the float valve has leftover varnish that is causing the needle to get stuck before it closes.

Or the floats get pinholes and sink

Or the float level is not set to specifications.  18.5mm is the spec for 360 carbs.

Or the brass overflow tube which is pressed into the float bowl has split down the sides.

Hope this helps..
