Motorcycle Repair: Aermaci Harley davidson gastank?, acid neutralizer, harley davison

Hello,
I am currently in the process of repairing a Harley Davison aermici, how would you clean a gastank? and what if it is rusty?

Floyd, Try a product called Kreem, It has 3 parts. Take the tank off and plug the petcock area and pour in the acid to etch the metal surface and clean the rust out depending on how bad. Then pour in the bottle of acid neutralizer to stop the acid from continuing to eat away at the metal. There is a third bottle but dont use it.Its for lining leaky tanks and looks like Elmers glue. Others have used marbles and bb,s or sand and about anything thats abrasive enough to clean the surface rust off.
