Question
QUESTION: I have a 13000 mile evo motor that has been well takin care of.It is a kick start bike,I started it and it was running at idle in the driveway when it died. The motor was not hot, blow any smoke or make any noise. Now it acts like it has zero compression,I put my finger over the plug hole and it pushes no air out, valves are working correctly.Crank is defenently turning. Both cylinders at the same time what do you think is wrong?

ANSWER: If you dont have any compression then either the pistons are not moving, exhaust or intake valves are not closing or you have broken rings. Did you try to restart the bike after is shut off? How do you know the valves are not stuck open?

QUESTION: The only thing different that I did was put some air from the compresser in the cylinder and it pushed down hard,Im holding the kicker.I did this and continued kicking engine over and now all compression is back.It runs just like it use to.While I was researching this I only found one other person who had this happen his evo was also a kick start only bike.He stated his bike took about thirty kicks before his compression came back.

Answer
Like I said before. Compression does not just go away and they return. Either you had a vlave sticking open or your rings are broken. If it were me I would pull the heads and do an inspection. If the valve sticks open far enough it can hit the piston

Good luck and happy riding
