Motorcycle Repair: 82 nighthawk, partsnmore, kit honda

Question
i have an 82 nighthawk im working on for a friend im cleaning the carbs and such due to it having sat for two years unfortunatly the auto fuel valve has a ripped diaphram. it appears to be discontinued. and i cant find a rebuild kit for it. do you have any suggestions. thanks for your time

Answer
Hi Corey,

these auto valves are getting very hard to
find or fix. I would suggest removing
it and using the tank valve instead.

You can also buy inline fuel valves
that might fit in the fuel lines
for a shutoff. It is going to get
harder to find any parts
for those old valves.

There are also universal fuel valves
that can be adapted to fit in the tank.
You might find a used one somewhere
but it will probably be shot too.
I would just use the manual valve
and shut if off at night.
