Motorcycle Repair: Blinkers, flash check, blinkers

Yes I have a 1983 Shadow 500 Motorcycle and all of a sudden my blinkers won't work until a half mile or 1 mile down the road.I can bounce on the seat sometimes to get them going also. I tried to undo all the wires and redo them but still same problem.All the fuses are good is their somewhere else to Look and check? Thanks for any and all information. Terry

Not sure what you mean by 'not working' do you mean they don't flash or they do not come on?  If they don't flash, check the flasher unit which is frequently mounted under the seat.  If they don't come on, check that youer rear light is working, if not it could simply be the ignition switch.  I am just offering these suggestions but not that familiar with the Shadow 500 so sorry I can't help with more detail.  Good luck,  Jan
