Question
In March the bike started acting like I had gotten bad fuel and bogging down till it stalled. Then a month ago, the engine seized and wouldn't turn over. I was told that I Hydro locked the engine,(after tearing the Air filter system off) and just needed to drain the oil and start fresh again. Now the carb' seem to be letting in too much fuel and not enough air(Strong fuel smell)- I know I need to buy a manual but don't have the funds right now and can't find the diagrams that can show where the idle mix screw is located at (or are there 2 - 1 for each head) already changed the oil & filter, swapped out both coils, cleaned air filter have sprayed the carb several times with wd-40(mild positive results) and have added the additives to the fuel to help clean it, but the bike continues to run good for short time and then bogs down and stalls.
Any new ideas or is it just a time issue till it solves itself & can you give the drawings to show which screws need to be adjusted for fuel air mix.

http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/2003-honda-motorcycle-vt750cdc-shad...  CARB COMPONENTS   #6 is the idle mixture screw set. What you probably need to attend to is the idle jet, itself.  #32. When the idle jets get plugged up, the engine is hard to start and won't idle. Your Hydro Lock is probably due to a leaking float valve, which either needs cleaning or replacement of the needle.

A serious hydro lock (either from leaking head gasket into the cylinder or leaking fuel valve into the intake valve) can cause irreparable damage, as it bend the connecting rod, causing undo strain on the crankshaft.

Remove the spark plugs, do a compression test and listen to how easily the engine turns over. If it is laboring with no spark plugs then the rod is bent. Check your coolant levels. Look at the spark plugs to determine what is burning in the cylinders. Either excess fuel or coolant will cause these issues.

Otherwise, you need to pull the carbs, clean everything and reassemble again.
