Motorcycle Repair: 1985 Honda VT700 lowering seat height, honda vt700, upholstery shop

Hello,

Is it possible to lower the seat height of a 1985 Honda VT700?  I am 5'1" and have short legs.  I can sit on the bike with my toes touching the ground and I have boots with 2" heels.  I would feel more comfortable if I could lower the bike so I could be flat footed.

Just a joke there...   There are several options:

Another option is to have the seat cushion shaved down at an upholstery shop.
