Motorcycle Repair: voltage regulator, harley fatboy, ac volts

Could you please advise me as to the best way to test a voltage regulator on a harley fatboy. Battery keeps draining even when running. Not the battery so it is either the vr or the stator.

There is no test for the voltage regulator. What you need to do is test the stator. If the stator passes then the regulator is bad.
To test the stator, unplug the regulator, and test from one pin of the stator to ground for OHMs. Do this at the other pin. then start the bike and at the stator and around 2000 RPM you should be showing around 60 AC volts. If it fails any tests then it bad
