Motorcycle Repair: Honda st90 Electrical ignition Issue, honda st90, thanks in advance

Question
Honda St90 1973 model.  Turn Key to on and green light neutral indicator on speedometer comes on.  Motor will start and idle then when you give it a little gas or ride about 100ft it will die.  The indicator light will not come back on when in neutral.  If I connect a battery charger to the battery for 30 seconds (it almost sounds like you hear a click) the indicator light will then come back on.  Again motor will start but then die as soon as you give it some gas or go for a short ride.  The only way I can get the green light to come back on to re-start it is by reconnecting it to the battery charger for a few seconds.  The battery charger indicates the battery is at full charge.  I am planning to get a volt meter to double check the battery voltage.  Seems like a short or something with the ignition system.  Thanks in advance for your help on this.

Answer
Kent, it sounds like you have a loose or dirty connection somewhere...either in the gound circuit or the power circuit.  When the bike is running vibration or heat causes the circuit to open. When you put the charger on, it overcomes the resistance in the loose or corroded connection.
