Question
What is the proper procedure for adjusting the cam chain?
Thanks

Answer
The best way is to take the valve cover off, set the crank to tdc and watch the top of the tensioner while you undo the locknut, which is on the back of the cylinder block in the middle between the cylinders.  When you undo the locknut, you should see the tensioner move slightly; sometimes a few taps with a screwdriver will move it if it is stuck.  These engines also have a balance chain, which should also be checked for tension.  There is a quadrant behind the inspection cover on the front right of the engine, did you check your manual for these adjustments?  Good luck,  Jan.

BTW I only normally answer questions about Honda CBX motorcycles.
