Question
i have a 2004 hertiage i put in a new clutch cable replaced the fluids and adjusted the clutch cable.i have not started the bike. but when i pull the clutch lever in and put it in gear it does not free wheel . i removed the darby cover and can see the clutch movvind in and out with the lever action

Answer
During your adjustments did you do anything to the cable adjuster. Its in the cable should be located on the left front frame down tube just below the triple tree lower clamp. You should adjust this so the clutch lever has about 1/8" of play and then adjust the clutch adjusting screw behind the derby cover. You'll want to take this adjusting screw in until it just hits the clutch pushrod and don't forget to tighten down the adjuster locknut. Start the bike and put it in gear and fine tune the clutch adjusting screw to get the exact clutch adjustment that you like. Any adjustments to the clutch adjusting screw will be done with the engine off. Hope this answers your question.
