Motorcycle Repair: Right front turn signal stay installation help, honda vt500c, source point

Question
Rich,  Recently bought an '86 Honda VT500C. Bike is in great shape except for the right front turn signal stay has dry rotted and needs replacing.  Got one from Old Cycle Barn (the black part/stay only) upon attempting to disassemble the old one I'm stuck on how to get it off.  Do I have to cut/splice wires or disconnect wires from source point and reroute them? there seems to be no disconnect inside the socket the bulb fits into. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Sorry, for taking so long to get to this answer, but I've been out of town.

Tony, the disconnect connectors are inside the headlight shell. Remove the headlight assembly and you will find the connectors.  Those will be threaded through the new stay.  I use a string or a piece of wire to pull the wires through the stay.  It makes it a lot easier than trying to push the wires through.

Regards
Rich
