Motorcycle Repair: 2001 Road King Classic, Sputtering/ Missing, fuel flow, fuel pump

Question
I have an 2001 Road king classic(with EFI) that runs great except for a recent problem I have noticed that seems to be getting more prevalent.  When I am riding at 40mph and 2000rpm(I have a Tach)my bike feels like it is either missing/sputtering or something is slipping.  The engine will actually noticeably bounce when it occurs, though it is not violent.  The bike does not turn off but continually will do this until I speed up or slow down. I have changed the plugs but i was wondering if it is something electrical or fuel related.  Any suggestions, Thank you.

Answer
I would start by checking the primary chain to make sure its not to tight or to loose. I dont think is clutch related, or it would do it at any RPM. Check also, to make sure you have a good fuel flow and that the fuel pump is holding pressure
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
