Motorcycle Repair: 1975 honda 550cc motorcycle, engine crankcase, point gap

    I hv a 1975 honda 550cc bike and i would like to know what are points on the thing and how do i adjust them?at least i heard that you can adjust them.

Yup, they are adjustable. They are under the left engine crankcase cover.  It the round one below the cylinders held on with two screws.  The point gap is 0.014 in. and then you adjust the mounting plates under the points to set the timing. Once you get the cover off you will what I'm referring to.  One of the points is adjusted by rotating the whole plate and the other point has a separate plate for its adjustment.
