Motorcycle Repair: fuel flow problem, rear cylinder, flow problem

Question
i have an s & s 117" with a super g carb. the engine will only run on the rear cylinder. the front is cold and dry. i pulled the plug and checked spark, it is okay. the plug is also dry, no fuel to it. i ran choke cleaner thru the carb and can also see the fuel flowing out of the jets okay. how can it get fuel to one cylinder and not the other?

Answer
SInce you have one carb you should be getting the same amount of fuel to each cylinder. You know that the plug is working so I would check to see if the intake valve is opening by looking at the pushrod. You can also remove the carb and intake and put your hand over the intake poet and see if it is sucked to the port when you turn the motor over. If it not then you need to remove the head and see what the problem is
Good luck and happy riding
