Motorcycle Repair: honda gl1200 carb rebuild, gl 1200, gl1200

Hi wayne,
I need to rebuild the carbs on my 1986 honda GL1200A but looking through the catalogs I see conflicting info.
One says for all 84 to 87 gl1200 A/I and another says 84/85 a/i and 86/87a/i.So my question is are all Gl 1200 A carbs the same from 1984 to 1987?

No, the carbs are a bit different.
the 84/85 models used a 32mm carb
and the 86/87 models had a 30mm carb
with accelerator pump.

-It is possible some of the parts may interchange
but I am not sure exactly which ones.
I would try to go with anything listed
as 86/87 if possible to be sure.
