Motorcycle Repair: Converting FLSTC to Dual Front disc, flstc heritage, project bike

Question
Hi. . . I have a 2004 FLSTC Heritage, and I want to convert it to Dual front discs, I've got some discs (Unused,) about ten years old from a project bike I was building, and a pair of 'Lockheed' Calipers, it seems a waste not to use them and get the better braking performance for the new bike - What I need to know is: What else I need to buy (Or Scrounge,) to put it all together and get it working, I guess I'll need a new Master Cylinder (Wont I ?) and lines, but what else can I use the same wheel and Hub, ? - Cheers from 'Down Under' - FatBob

Answer
Hi Bob, you will need another right side lower or decker lowers which are set for double discs. A double disc hub is also needed, master cylinder(11/16 bore),brake lines, and before going out and acquiring these parts make sure the Lockheed calipers will bolt up with not too much difficulty.Do also check on availability of parts for the Lockheed (ie.pads, piston rebuild kits,). Just to make sure you can still get them.I would suggest selling the Lockheed, and purchasing H-D parts for the convience of fitment.
