Motorcycle Repair: front wheel wooble, possabilities, handle bars

Question
Hi Mike
I have a 1992 FLHTCU,I have owend it since 2001. I believe the front fork
woobled at that time, but I have since replaced the front tire , and if I let go of
the handle bars at any speed the front end woobles , as long as I keep my
hands where they belong the bike rides fine . I'm going to take the front
wheel to be balanced and I hope thats the problem , any other possabilities as
to what going on . Thank you in advance .
Steve

Answer
check the front end for bearing wear. Have somebody help you. Leant he bike over ont he kickstand so the front wheel is off the ground. Pull on the wheel, inline with the frame. If you get movement back and forth then eithr the bearing is bad or not tight enough
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
