Motorcycle Repair: 1985 KAWASAKI GPZ750R, cylinder compression, valve clearances

BIKE RUNS WELL FOR 10-15MINUTES THEN WONT IDLE & BACKFIRES. LET IT COOL DOWN THEN OK AGAIN FOR 10-15 THEN TROUBLE AGAIN.JUST DONE FULL ENGINE REBORE AND OVERHAUL.
PLEEEEEEASE HELP TRIED ALL I CAN THINK OF.

Hi Bruce,

I suspect the engine is overheating. There's not enough information to accurately diagnose the problem.

Upon reassembly of the engine, how was air purged from the cooling system?

What are cylinder compression readings? Was a leak-down performed after the rebore? What are the piston sizes now?

Are valve clearances within service limits?

Describe the appearance of the spark plugs. Cylinders, carburetors, and plugs are numbered 1-2-3-4 from left to right as if seated in the saddle.
