Motorcycle Repair: Honda QA50, honda gallery, bill silver

Question
Hi Bill,
I have a 1974 QA50 that almost suvived our three kids. I'm trying to restore it for my grandson and thought I was about done however. After re assembleing the engine and installing many new parts we seem to have a transmission that is slipping in second gear. The engine runs well and the bike looks great. Do you have any ideas about the transmission? Could it be an adjustment, my luck I'll need more parts. If so
what do you think I may need and any idea where to look for them? Thanks for your help and input.

Pete

Answer
Pete, I know nothing about these things other than a brief description on the Honda gallery... 2 speed, auto-clutch...

It is pretty hard for a transmission to "slip" other than out of gear, but the clutches can slip under load if not adjusted correctly....

In desperation I Googled the web and found this...

Hope it solves the problem for you....
