Motorcycle Repair: kawasaki turnsignals, kawasaki 600, flasher relay

Question
I have a 1990 kawasaki 600 ninja and the turnsignals do not work, I have parking lights and headlight. Also hazzards do not work.I have changed the relay but i still have no power to the turnsinal switch.I also have power to one side of the turnsignal relay. What causes the turnsignals flash.

Answer
Hi Dan.

The device that makes the signals flash is the flasher relay.  For the hazard lights, there is usually a second relay that is on the circuit with the flasher relay that ties all of the turn signals in together when used.

The issue could be with the component that controls the hazard lights or there is a short in the wiring for the turn signals, somewhere between power and the relays.

Start with those and see what you find.
Good luck and ride safe.
