Motorcycle Repair: KTM 250 2 stroke 2003 model, oil mixture, ktm sx

Question
Hi I have a ktm sx 250 2003 model, I got my bike out at the weekend and kicked it over put it into gear, and rode across the field in the gears the bike kept loosing power as if it was about to stall even when i pulled the throttle back fully. In the end i stopped the bike, upon looking over it the bike looked fine so i tried to kick it over again, the bike was like starting but then cutting straight out, even with the choke on. I hadnt had the bike out for about a month and their was still plenty of compresion in the kickstarter. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? could it possibly be due to fuel/oil mixture not being the correct ratio. Thanks Lee

Answer
Hi Lee,

Q:  "...Do you have any idea what the problem could be?"

A:  It could be a fouling/fouled spark plug, low cylinder compression, varnished carburetor, air/fuel mixtures incorrect, improper oil/fuel mix, restricted air intake, worn or defective reed valve, pinched or collasped vacuum or fuel hose, ignition problem, or other.

Q:  "...could it possibly be due to fuel/oil mixture not being the correct ratio."

A:  It's possible
