Motorcycle Repair: Installing a lowering kit for rear of Harley 92 FLSTF, eye bolt, lowering kit

Question
I am installing an adjustable lowering kit for rear of Harley 92 FLSTF and having trouble getting original eye bolt out of shocks, turns a few turns the stops. Does shock have to be dismantled? They said the kit could be installed in an hour but didn't say the actual shock has to be dismantled to get the eye bolt out?

Answer
You dnt have to take the shock apart. the bolt should turn out. Do you have somthing under the bike to take the weight off the shock? That would make it easier. Also, some years have a nut on the back of the bolt so check to make sure yours doesnt have on.
Good luck and happy riding
