Mazda: concept hybrid mazda, neon srt 4, fuel injection system

Question
Hi, I'm lucky to run across someone who might be able to help or guide me with my ideas. I have a concept vehicle suggestion. A compact 4-dr (Mazda?) with a supercharged 1.6L making 190 or so hp, together with an electric motor just like any other hybrid. But here's the technical highlight, the engine would be designed with a "variable fuel injection" system. Allowing the engine to burn ONLY as much fuel as needed. Such a system could decrease fuel consumption under light load up to 60% or more. It's been proven that a 2800lb. vehicle requires only 8+/- hp to maintain 60mph on flat ground. Imagine if an engine only used that much fuel for such a task. Studies also show that the majority of fuel burned is in acceleration. If a car could pour on the gas when accelerating, then reduce output to 20 or so hp while cruising, according to the throttle position, imagine the fuel one could save. Another thing, if such an engine were tuned to produce 50% of it's torque below 2000 rpm, one could even gear it to cruise at 1600 rpm at highway speeds! Not to mention the appearance and interior options I would build this car with. We're talkin HID lights, 500+W, 12 spkr sound, standard alloy wheels, etc. This car could better the performance of the Neon SRT-4, not to mention the 40 or so mpg fuel economy! Even at 25 grand, poeple would get in line for this car! Could you just see a Mazda prototype, 2600 lbs., 0-60 in 5.5, 220 combined hp, 6-spd trans, 17" alloys, and the icing on the cake, 40+mpg! I'm drooling already. Is there anyone I could propose such a model to? I would jump through hoops to build this! What a dream huh? Well, thanks for listening to a young man with big dreams.

Answer
Justin, I have forwarded your comments to Mazda Motors of America styling and design studios for their comments.  When I hear from them I will let you know.  Your ideas seem to make a lot of sense, but I am not an engineer.  Best of luck to you.  Bud  here is the answer I reciveve Justin:
Hello Bud,

Thank you for contacting Mazda North American Operations.  I appreciate
the opportunity to respond to you.

The most I would be able to do with this suggestion is forward it off
to our Product Planning Department for further review.  Once they
review the file, if they needed any further information, they would get
in touch with this consumer directly.

I have documented this file for corporate record and will forward it
off to our Product Planing Department.

Again, thank you for contacting Mazda. It has been my pleasure to
