Motorcycle Repair: Starting Problem, honda goldwing 1200, 1986 honda goldwing

Bill, I own a 1986 Honda Goldwing 1200 Interstate and just recently started having problems starting my bike. Everytime I press the ignition button the motor wants to start but it won't. First I thought maybe the battery was low, but after charging it still nothing. I then purchased a brand new battery, and after putting it in it immediately started on the first try. Two days later it wouldn't start again, and has yet to do so even with the battery fully charged. I had someone check over the bike with a voltage meter and he says everything checks out okay. My question is what's keeping my bike from starting?
