Motorcycle Repair: Shadow front end alignment, dayton ohio area, front end alignment

Question
My girlfriend backed into the front tire of my 2004 Honda Shadow Aero.  Now my left hand grip is a little further forward than my right when I riding straight down the road.  If I straighten the handlebars, it steers slightly left.  Can a dealership align the bike and correct this? What is a reasonable price for this work? I put 150 miles on the bike yesterday, so it is still rideable

Answer
Hi Jason,

Q:  Can a dealership align the bike and correct this?

A: Yes, without replacing parts in most cases.

Q: What is a reasonable price for this work?

A: Depends on the amount of time used. Figure on one hour of labor as a base. Shop rates in the Dayton, Ohio area is about $50 per flat-rate hour.

If all parts are undamaged, the fix may be simply untightening fork clamps and/or handlebar mounts and realigning. Something that could be easily performed at home.
