Motorcycle Repair: Flywheel removal, crank shaft, strap wrench

Question
I have a 1990 Kawasaki EX500A. I've been trying to figure out hot to get the generator flywheel off (the one w/magnets), the repair manual says use kawasaki "special"removal tool. I ordered the so called special tool for $60 and it's a threaded bolt. No instructions and nowhere on line or on the Kawasaki website can I find where it tells you how to use it and or remove the generator flywheel.
Thanks for your help!

Answer
Hi Scott, The tool is designed to be threaded into the center of the Flywheel, the bolt as it is threaded in will bottom out on the crank shaft, the problem is that another special tool is needed to hold the flywheel from turning, a large strap wrench may work, the kind used to remove large oil filters. Once the flywheel is secured from spinning you would use a air impact on the remover tool cranking it down quickly against the crank shaft end, this pops the flywheel loose from the crank. Then another tool is required to reinstall it. The flywheel is a press fit onto the crankshaft. I hope this helped, good luck
