Motorcycle Repair: possible electrical prob., kawasaki zxr 250, spark plug wires

Question
I currently live in Japan.  I've got a Kawasaki ZXR 250 (I think it's a '93, but not positive).  Anyway, it ran fine until a week ago when I turned it off, and then it wouldn't start again. The engine will crank all day long, but it just won't fire. Took the plugs out and had a look.  Then I tested the connections to see if there was even a spark and there wasn't.  the bike ran fine, and then all of a sudden there wasn't any juice coming through the spark plug wires.  At this point, I've tried to start it so many times (not to mention craking the engine to test the plug wires) that the battery is nearly dead.  Any suggestions on what the problem might be...why am I not getting any spark?
Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi Eric,

The cause may be several sources; CDI, pick-up coil, wiring problems, etc... Several checks need to be performed to diagnose the problem.
