Motorcycle Repair: Honda History, ebay auctions, honda parts

Question
I have "pestered" you a few times already, but always found you an incredibly helpful and gracious source of information, so I turn to you once more. I have not yet purchased your Honda book, but I was wondering if there is another source in addition to it, for Honda History as far as what model years included as equipment or options for the bike. I am trying to turn a "rat bike" back into the original model, since I had a complete frame, motor (runs well) seat, and so on. But the front end of this CB 350 was so heavily modified, I'm not sure where IT ends and the real bike BEGINS. It's frame has an 9/72 manf. date, so as I've been told, that makes it a 73 US model. I'd love to find a "timeline" source of somesort to identify what the bikes should look like and be equipped with. I await your learned response. Thanks SO Much, Patrick

This is pretty much taken from the Honda ID book. If the 1973s were the last and the G models had disc brake front ends. You really need a factory Honda parts book to ascertain what parts fit what on these bikes. Check Ebay auctions, www.olypen.com/retro and www.motorcyclememories.com for copies of the parts manuals which will help you sort out the bike.
