Motorcycle Repair: 1999 Kawasaki EX250 F13 Ninja, kawasaki ex250, clutch lever

Question
I have just purchased a showroom clean 1999 Kawasaki EX250 F13 Ninja with only 530 miles.  It was hardly ever used.  The bike worked and rode great until yesterday.  I dropped the bike 2 days ago on its left side.  It broke the left front turn signal and slightly bent the left handle bar.  The bike started right up again when I got it up and I rode it around a little.  Yesterday I tried it out again and it started up again and I rode it for a couple minutes.  I turned it off and have not been able to start it since.  The starter works and the engine tries to start but it just won't.  It is like a kill switch is still on which it isn't, I have checked it.  I also checked the fuel line and everything flows fine.  One other thing is, I shifted it to first gear and held in the clutch and tried starting it.  When I would hit the starter button the bike would jerk forward like it would if you didn't engage the clutch.  I wonder if the clutch needs to be re-tightened or something.  Any suggestions would be great.  I'm stumped.

Answer
Hi Jonathan,

Remove the spark plugs and inspect them. Clean the wet gas from them (if any) and re-install them. Try starting again.

Reference starting in first gear with clutch lever in; That happened because clutch plates have not separated as engine has not been started. Oil between plates kinda bonds them together until engine is started and engine rotation separates plates.
