I need to know the timing proceedure for a 1979 FXE with an electronic ignition

You are going to need a timing light and a clear timing plug. Remove the timing plug from the left side of the motor. It is at the top of the case in the center. Install the clear timing plug. Start the bike and let it warm up. You will need to run the bike at 2000 RPM. Shine the light in the timing hole and you should see a dot on the flywheel. If you can see the dot you are ok. If not then you will ahve to remove the timing cover, loosen the holdown bolts and turn the ignition until you see the dot. Once done put everything back together and your good to go.
