Motorcycle Repair: Clutch lever adjustment, suzuki bandit 1200, 2002 suzuki bandit 1200

Question
I want to rotate the clutch and brake lever assemblies around to have the levers closer to the ground.  The clutch hits the light switch housing. The brake hits the throttle cables. I cannot rotate the light switch or the start switch assemply because they are held in place by holes in the handlebar.  Can I drill more holes in the bar so the switches can be rotated forward and out of the way ? Is there another approach ? This is a 2002 Suzuki Bandit 1200

Answer
Hi Harvey.
DO NOT drill any holes in the handlebars.  They were designed to take the holes that are in them, but any more may weaken them and make them unsafe.  You may be relegated to finding a set of generic bars and modifying them to fit or adjusting the existing ones to the maximum useable position and dealing with it as is.

Those are about the only reasonable options.

Good luck.
