Motorcycle Repair: Oil pump priming, oil pump, harley

Hi,

I sent my '91 EVO back to harley for a manufacture rebuild. I am doing the installation of the motor myself. I have heard that the oil pump must be primed before the engine is started. I can't find any info in the manual on how to prime the pump. Could you please explain the procedure?  Thank you very munch.

REMOVE PLUG FROM OIL PUMP THAT HAS THE SPRING AND CHECK BALL INSIDE AND REMOVE SPRING AND CHECK BALL, TURN MOTOR OVER INTILL OIL STARTS COMING OUT OF THE OIL PUMP WHERE THE CHECK BALL AND SPRING WAS.  NOW REINSTALL CHECK BALL AND SPRING AND TOP COVER. OIL PUMP IS NOW PRIMED, JOHNNY
