Nissan Repair: 1991 Nissan 4x4 truck wont start, nissan 4x4, 4x4 truck

Starter wasn't working, replaced with new one. Truck gas level was empty. Filled with 5 gallons. Try to start and it will not fire up. The starter works great, but now the engine won't fire up?

Hi Bert -

Try this test -

Remove one spark plug boot and insert a screwdriver until it wedges against the boot inside. Hold the shaft of the screwdriver 1/4" away from any metal surface of the engine and have a helper start the engine. There should be a spark jumping between the 2 metal surfaces. If there is spark, then try the fuel test -

Remove a portion of the intake boot and spray some starting fluid inside. Quickly close it up and start the engine.
