Nissan Repair: Nissan Navara 3 ltr fan belt replacement, nissan navara, bracket spring

Question
recently purchased Navara 3 litre p/u. tension pulley bearing collapsed causing a newly replaced fan belt to come off. We have replaced the tensioner component but cannot get the belt to fit back on. Can you please explain how to do this. It has the air conditioner installed.

Answer
Hi Cheryl -

I really wish I were there to look at this. That's the difficulty of diagnosing sight unseen. That being said, I will need your assistance. We do not have Navara's here in Hawaii, so it makes things even more challenging.

If you could give me info on the following:

Is the pulley/bracket spring loaded?

Do you have a serpentine belt, or regular drive belts?

If you have a photo that would help.

Are you saying that (if you have a serpentine belt), even if the tension pulley is levered all the way back, you still cannot fit the belt on?

Let me know -
Aloha
