Nissan Repair: Possible misfire, nissan maxima, vacuum hose

Question
I have a 96 Nissan Maxima, with a vq30de engine. About a week ago I started it up to go to work and it had trouble starting as usual, So I started it again and gave it a little gas and it started to for a lack of better terms shake real bad. After idling it up for a few seconds it stopped and ran normally. I cut it off and didn't drive it. I replaced the spark plugs too see if that fixed the issue and found a broken ignition coil replaced that as well. Once I was finished I started it up and it ran normally. Until a couple of days ago. When in neutral or park it idles normally, I can't feel anything. But once it gets too normal temperature and in drive it starts to misfire or what feels like a misfire. Also does it while at a stop light. When under load it does the same thing till about 2100-2500 rpm range, then runs normally. When passing a car I noticed a smell of exhaust and a little unburned gas as well. I also noticed a break in the flex hose leading too the throttle body. Could this be causing the issue, or could it be something deeper?

Answer
Hi Donald

Is your check engine light on? If so, have you extracted the code? That would lead us in the right direction.

Yes, the hose going to your intake could be a vacuum hose in which case would cause the rough idle. I would replace that, and all other hoses that seem brittle, or ready to break.

Hope this helps -
