Question
rebuilt eng ran great for over an hour .took it to get more fule and it died . got gas to eng  but nothing out of coil..replaced dist. coil and lil 3 prong thingy under coil. still nothing . no codes show ether.

Answer
Inside the distributor there's a reluctor wheel and a magnetic pick up coil. These 2 components act like the old breaker points with the only difference there is no contact between them but an "air gap" which is also adjustable. Every time one point of the reluctor wheel passes the pick up coil it gives a signal to a small electronic module inside, or mounted on the housing of the distributor, to interrupt the primary voltage to the ignition coil and this sudden interruption causes a high tension voltage needed to fire the spark plugs. This module can be tested with a tester but my guess is that it went bad on you. Reluctor and pick up coil replacement is also recommended.
