Nissan Repair: nissan electrical, using jumper cables, jumper cable

Question
My car will not start. It is a 2001 Sentra se and I put a new battery in it and changed the battery connections and it will not start even with a jump. What else could it be

Answer
First this may sound silly but have the new battery tested. Sounds like you either blew a fuse or lost the ground. To check the ground using jumper cables. Do this exactly how I say or can blow up the battery or start a fire!!! First you will only need the use the black ends of the jumper cable. DO NOT CONNECT OR USE THE RED END OF THE CABLES PERIOD. Attach one end of the black cable to the negative side of the battery. Then the other end of the black cable to something metal on the engine or transmission. MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT PUT THE CABLE BY ANY MOVING PARTS. AND AGAIN DO NOT HOOK UP ANYTHING TO THE POSITIVE TERMINAL ON THE BATTERY. ALSO DO NOT PUT THE BLACK CABLE ON THE ALTERNATOR!!! If the vehicle power comes back your ground cable is broken. If not its something with your power side.
