Nissan Repair: low engine idle, nissan altima, air leaks

Question
i have a 97 nissan altima and it has been running poorly with a low engine idle. Nothing has worked for me and there is no check engine light not...but i did hook up a scanner which read p0325 for knock sensor. I have recently noticed a hose the connects from the valve cover to the air intak which has a crack at the clamp and also the elbow which the hose connects on the air intake is showing signs of wear. Could this cause a low engine idle?

Answer
Dustin,

If you have not replaced the knock sensor do so.  This will make the engine run bad since the computer goes into limp mode to prevent engine damage.

Any air leaks will cause the engine to run poorly as this introduces un-metered air.  Correct the hose you mention along with any others.  Lastly, be sure to have a proper tune up with plugs, wires and such to baseline the engines performance.
