hi,
i have a terrano and was looking at saving money by rebuilding my alternator, its currently only producing a little over 10 volts.
i was wondering weather you could give me some tips before i dive in and start pulling it apart.
any tips would be muchly appreciated.

Hi Drew -

My recommendation is to just get a rebuilt alternator. For the amount of time and headache spent buying components here and there and rewinding the alternator, it is well worth the effort just to get the rebuilt. A good price is around $80 - $100 US.

They will also give you credit for the old alternator, provided it is in good condition.
