Nissan Repair: back door, nissan altima, altima

Hello, i have a 2004 Nissan altima 2.5S i recently had an accident where i slept on a patch of ice and sled right into a light pole. the only damage that happened is the back door it has a big long maybe 5-6 inch width dent in it and is about a foot or less long. it is right by the passenger door opening but did not hit that door. my question is do i have to by a hole new door or could i try to pull that dent out and then paint the car, also that little piece that is under the door got cracked how can i fix that i don't have alot of money but that car is our baby and i don't want it to look crazy anything is helpful thanx. kim m

find a door in a junkyard, it will be FAR cheaper than paint and repair.  look around for the same color as yours, no big deal at all here.  it will cost you entirely too much to have it fixed and painted vs a good used one in a salvage lot.  best of luck, let me know how it turns out.  thanks for the question.   btw, i love that body style altima, probably the best generation as far as style goes.
