Nissan Repair: Gas Gauge, gas gauge, clock position

Question
The gas gauge on my 2007 Maxima is stuck under the needle.
I don't know how this happened, but I think it might've over-rotated clockwise.
When I start the car, the gauge rises, then gets stuck under the needle.  When I turn off the car, the gauge rests at almost the 6 o'clock position.
Please let me know how I can fix.

Answer
Van,

The cluster will have to be pulled and the needle moved to the other side of the stop.  To get the cluster out you will have to pull the trim around the lense to access the screws and move the steering column to the bottom position.  If you cannot get the column down enough you will have to remove the knee bolster, to access the two bolts that hold the column up.  Then remove these two bolts and allow the column to rest on the seat.  There are four screws that hold the cluster in.  Once these are removed the cluster pulls out enough to access the back.  On the back is where the harness connects.  Depress the clips on each side and the harness disconnects.  Now, pull the cluster out and put it on a soft worksurface.  I like a soft towel so nothing gets scratched.  Remove the lense and then you have access to the instruments.  If the needle is handled too rough you can break it so be careful.  If this does not solve the problem you will need to source a new gauge.
