Nissan Repair: Coolant leakage, cylinder head gasket, core plug

Question
Yes Calvin, in response to my last question, some of the coolant is actually coming from the muffler. It makes me think that a core plug could be damaged, because i can think of no other way that water gets to the muffler

Answer
Hi Jefferson -

If the water just comes out when you just start the vehicle and goes away, that is normal. If it continues to come out of the exhaust, I suggest taking a compression test to see if you have a cylinder head gasket issue. There should be no more than 10% variance in compression between cylinders.

Hope this helps -
