Nissan Repair: oil pump, oil pressure sending unit, rod bearings

thermostat stopped working, replaced it,now i am getting an oil light and engine is trying to cease. thermostat still not working.

I would check to make sure the air is burped and all air is out to get that working.  If the oil light is on change the oil pressure sending unit. If the oil light is still on then you are looking at a oil pump and probably main and rod bearings if the oil pump was bad.
