Nissan Repair: cv boot replacement, nissan sentra, cv boots

Question
My 1996 nissan sentra need the cv boots replaced could you please tell me the price range for this repair?

Answer
Kellie,

A place like Sears, when they are running a special, is what you are looking for.  You see, to get the CV driveshaft out to rebuild it and replace the boot will require a front end alignment.  So, $165 a driveshaft, times two, and another $125 for an alignment is what you are looking at.  Other shops will be more for labor and such.  Check your local paper for specials.  And, remember that they will be trying to sell you all sorts of other things when you get the CV driveshafts done.  So, if they say the struts or ball joints are bad get a second opinion before you get anything else done.
