Nissan Repair: wireless reversing camera to nissan navara auto, nissan navara, automatic gearbox

hi,
the instructions to fit the rev.camera is to wire thru the reversing lights, this done
camera wouldnt work but works when bridged from battery
obviously a drop in voltage i think
whats the best way to power the camera as the power cant be on all the time as it will damage camera
have taken what plugs out of automatic gearbox i could find but the rev. light was still on, hoping to wire direct from box

I would go to your local electronics supplier, like Radio Shack, and get a momentary switch and wire it up to the shifter and feed power from the switched ignition source and then to the camera and you should be fine.  Just a matter of mounting the switch.  If not, you could use a relay and use the wires you have and the relay would just boost the signal voltage to the camera and that would work too.
