Nissan Repair: throttle body 3.0 nissan 4x4 1998, fuel pressure regulator, 4x4 nissan

Question
Just took possession of 98 4x4  Nissan D-21 which has a 1990
motor.  Computer was replaced due to fuel starvation problem.
Driving home was uneventful till last turn when motor tried to cut off.  I raised the rpm's  made it home.  Previous owner said that a similar problem was the reason the garage said the computer needed  replacing.  Owner said a co-worker fixed a similar problem on his sentra by replacing
a valve in the throttle body which by his interpretation was
where the fuel line entered the throttle body.  He said this part cost ten or twelve dollars and I know a fuel pressure regulator cost $150. or so.  Do you have any suggestions that might help.  Sorry for this long- winded
description.

Answer
Hi Mike -

The only thing I can think of is that your butterfly valve is sticking or dirty. Remove the intake boot and clean the area where the butterfly valve meets the walls of the intake throat.

Other than that you may try to take a fuel pump test, volume and pressure.

Hope this helps -
